Then it’s back to MasterChef HQ where they have to create one perfect dish for the judges that showcases their skills, creativity and palate – all using the same basic ingredient, a chicken.

For one contestant who impresses the judges the least, their MasterChef journey will be over tonight.

The five most talented cooks in the country remain and tonight they are put through their paces, as the competition gets tougher. First, each contestant is given an especially tailored master class at a top London restaurant to help them iron out their weaknesses as cooks and then back at the MasterChef studios they must produce one dish that demonstrates to the judges their improvement.

After that their heads are on the block when they have to create a banquet worthy of the magnificent surroundings of one of the country’s most iconic landmarks – the 1000-year-old Tower of London.

There is no room for error as only the best will carry on in the competition and become one step closer to being crowned this year’s MasterChef champion while one will leave the competition tonight.

Then they must cater for 120 children when cooking their favourite dishes at the local school. Finally, they face their most daunting challenge to date – cooking for Royalty, as the Maharajah and his family allow the finalists into his hill- top Palace, where they must prepare a meal worthy of the magnificent occasion.

They must ensure that everything is perfect if they are going to continue with their dream of becoming crowned this year’s MasterChef champion.

It’s the penultimate test for the three MasterChef finalists. In tonight’s one hour show the finalists return to the UK where they must face two of the most daunting challenges ever undertaken by amateur chefs.

The finalists have to cope with running a busy kitchen and producing top quality food for over 70 diners, and for the first time ever on MasterChef, with judge John Torode manning the pass.

Then they face their most terrifying challenge yet – cooking for one of the greatest living chefs in the world, the legendary Alain Ducasse. They have to recreate one of Alain’s iconic dishes and then serve it to the man himself, as well as five of his award winning protégés, who between them hold an incredible 30 Michelin stars.

The Final

And lastly, they must return to MasterChef HQ for the final time, to cook John and Gregg their last, sublime three course meal....at the end of which, one of them will be crowned MasterChef Champion 2010.
