Heart and Soul of Mexico To Spice Up
BBC Summer Good Food Show

Soft, steaming corn tortillas filled with slowly braised lamb barbacoa; chicken in a chocolate chilli (Mole) sauce; or nopal cactus, topped off with fresh salsa and a twist of lime…..is your mouth watering yet?

Rico Mexican Kitchen will be serving a selection of traditional Mexican snacks at the BBC Good Food Show between 16 and 20 June on stand F340 in the Producers’ Village.  Just look out for the giant, walking catci!

Rico’s range of ready to use salsas and cooking sauces, from a fiery Xtra Hot Chipotle salsa to a light, zingy Salsa Verde, will also be available to sample and take home.

Rico Mexican Kitchen’s founder, Derbyshire based Marcela Flores Newburn, is originally from Monterrey in Mexico.  She created a range of salsas and cooking sauces after finding it difficult to source products in the UK that matched the texture and taste of the food she grew up with.

Rico's salsas and cooking sauces are suitable for vegans, gluten free and contain at least two of your recommended ‘five a day’.

“Making traditional Mexican salsas can be a real labour of love, Marcela explained.  “So I’ve taken the hard work out of making traditional salsas and cooking sauces so that people can buy them to use quickly and simply at home.
"We’ll be showing people at the BBC Summer Good Food Show how to mix and match Rico salsas with lots of different foods; such as spooned into wraps, enjoyed with melted cheese on toast or used hot as a cooking sauce with meat or vegetables.”

Rico Mexican Kitchen’s product range includes Salsa Verde, Spicy Beans, Mild & Tasty Salsa, Chipotle Xtra Hot Salsa and chocolate chilli Mole (pronounced moleh) cooking sauce.
